Sherman is the Managing Member of HI CapM Advisors, Ltd. HI CapM is a consulting firm that provides strategic and financial advisory services to private equity funds, hedge funds, asset managers and corporations. He has over 25 years of experience with working with companies undergoing transformation. In his career, he has worked in various capacities including: M&A and Restructuring, High Yield and Leveraged Finance, Distressed Investing, Chief Restructuring Officer and Board of Director positions. Sherman currently serves on the board of directors of Arch Coal, Inc., Key Energy Services, Harvey Gulf International Marine, LLC, and Real Alloy. Previous directorships include HCR Manorcare, Monitronics Inc., JL French Automotive and Preferred Sands.

Sherman was previously a Partner and Managing Director at Zolfo Cooper (now Alix Partners) where he led the firm’s 1st and 2nd Lien creditor advisory practice until December 2015, and held various positions at Glass & Associates, Long Drive Management Trust (Nomura Securities), CIBC World Markets, PWC, and Chase Manhattan Bank. Select transactions and assignments include Merrill Corporation, Wastequip (Patriot container), Guilford Performance Products, Meridian Technologies, American Axle, Harlan Labs, Inner City Broadcasting Corporation, Dura Automotive, MotorCoach Industries, JL French, Diversified Machines, Oglebay-Norton, Grove Worldwide, Icon Health and Fitness, Alabama Pine & Pulp, Michael Petroleum, Diemakers, Inc., Norcal Waste Systems, Walter Industries and CaterAir.

Sherman received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University and his MBA from the University of Michigan.
